In short

Cozumel, in short.

Cozumel is an island off Mexico’s Caribbean coast, reached by a forty-minute ferry from Playa del Carmen or through the island’s own airport. Villa Experience holds seven villas here, from four to ten bedrooms, arranged on request rather than listed publicly.

Four of the houses stand on the Carretera Costera Sur, the southern coast road below San Miguel. The other three are on the northern coast road in the Country Club area. Most open directly onto the sand; one sits a ten-minute walk from the beach near Playa Mia.

They are large houses. The smallest has four bedrooms and sleeps ten; the largest has ten bedrooms and sleeps twenty-two. Two of them are twin residences that can be taken as one compound or separately.

Because none of the seven is published on this site, there is no grid below. Tell us your dates and how many are coming and an advisor will send the houses that are free, with photographs and a written quote.

The place

Why Cozumel?

The Cozumel houses divide between two coasts. The south-coast group sits along the Carretera Costera Sur in the Zona Hotelera Sur, where the shoreline is rock and sand and the water is straight off the terrace — one of them a five-bedroom house with a fifty-foot infinity pool above its own ocean access, another a ten-bedroom pair of neighbouring homes run as a single compound.

The northern group sits on the Carretera Costera Norte in the Country Club area: a four-bedroom, two-storey house on the sand and a five-bedroom beachfront residence beside it, which can also be taken together as one nine-bedroom property. Inland and above Playa Mia, a seven-bedroom house with five-metre ceilings looks over its own grounds, ten minutes’ walk from the water.

Frequently asked

Answered plainly.

01Does Villa Experience have villas on Cozumel?

Yes. We hold seven private villas on Cozumel, from four to ten bedrooms, sleeping ten to twenty-two guests. They are not published on the website, so availability, photographs and a written quote come from an advisor rather than from a listing page. Tell us your dates and group size and we will send what is free.

02How do you get to Cozumel?

Two ways. The ferry from Playa del Carmen takes about forty minutes. Cozumel also has its own airport, about twenty-five minutes’ drive from the south-coast houses. Cancún International is 95.6 km away on the mainland, and the journey from there finishes with the ferry crossing. Our listings note that these times vary with traffic and the ferry schedule.

03Where on the island are the villas?

On both coasts. Four are on the Carretera Costera Sur, the southern coast road in the Zona Hotelera Sur below San Miguel. Three are on the Carretera Costera Norte in the Country Club area on the northern coast. San Miguel’s restaurants and shops are about 15 km from the southern houses.

04Are the Cozumel villas on the beach?

Most of them are. The south-coast and north-coast houses are oceanfront, with the water directly off the terrace or a few steps of sand away. One seven-bedroom house above Playa Mia is set back from the shore, about a ten-minute walk from the beach.

05How large are the groups these houses take?

From ten to twenty-two guests. The smallest is a four-bedroom house sleeping ten; the largest is a ten-bedroom compound of two neighbouring residences sleeping twenty-two. Two of the seven are twin properties that can be booked as one house or as a pair.

06What else is nearby if Cozumel is full?

The rest of our Caribbean collection is on the mainland, forty minutes away by ferry: Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Puerto Aventuras, Akumal and Tulum, together with Cancún and Isla Mujeres to the north. The Riviera Maya page lists them all.
