Villa Fontana

Villa Fontana stands in Selva, the jungle-side neighbourhood near the centre of the Punta Mita peninsula, where the planting is dense enough that the houses are barely aware of one another. Four bedrooms sleep ten. The architecture is contemporary but warm, built around woven palapa ceilings, lime-plastered walls and full-height glass that treats the garden as another room. It is a house for people who want the resort’s amenities without its noise, and who would rather hear birds than a beach club.

The plan opens outward. Living and dining run into a covered terrace and from there onto a private pool set in landscaped garden, with a firepit positioned for the hour after dinner. A fully equipped kitchen serves an indoor dining table, and the terrace carries a second table for eating outside, which is where most meals end up. Four bedrooms are arranged for privacy rather than symmetry: the master holds a king bed beneath a vaulted palapa ceiling with its own sitting area and terrace doors, two further rooms hold king beds, and the fourth is fitted with two queen beds. Four bathrooms serve the house.

Daily housekeeping is included, and a personal concierge handles the arrangements before arrival and during the stay. A private chef, butler, bartender, pre-arrival grocery stocking, in-villa spa and wellness treatments, transportation and additional golf-cart rental are available at further cost. The stay carries a Premier Golf Membership at Club Punta Mita, which opens the private beach clubs at Pacifico, Kupuri, Sufi and the St Regis, the two Jack Nicklaus Signature courses at Pacifico and Bahia, the tennis, pickleball and paddle courts, the fitness centre and the pilates studio, along with preferential tee times on both courses.

Selva sits within a few minutes of almost everything on the peninsula: the beach clubs and the golf clubhouse are a short cart ride, the break at El Anclote and the restaurants of Punta de Mita town around ten minutes, and the marina a little beyond. Sayulita is twenty-five minutes by road and Puerto Vallarta International Airport roughly forty.
