The place
Why Holbox Island?
Holbox has no paved roads. The streets are sand, the traffic is electric golf carts and bicycles, and the island sits inside a protected biosphere where the Gulf meets the Caribbean. The western end at Punta Coco is the quiet one — it is where people walk to watch the sun go down, and where the bioluminescence shows on dark nights.
Our compound stands at that end, where Calle Caguama runs out into the palms. Six en-suite suites across two buildings around a pool and a garden, a rooftop palapa with sea views, hammocks and loungers, and the beach thirty metres from the gate. It is let whole, to one party at a time.
