The old-town rooftops running along the bay to the mountains at Old Town, Puerto Vallarta

In short

Old Town, in short.

Old Town is the historic heart of Puerto Vallarta — the cathedral, the Malecón, the galleries and the market — and the hillside that rises straight up behind it. We have two villas here, of six and nine bedrooms, sleeping twelve and eighteen.

Both are hilltop houses rather than street-level ones. One is reached by a shared funicular that climbs the slope from the street; both have heated infinity pools and terraces facing the full sweep of Banderas Bay, the city below and the Sierra Madre behind.

The Malecón boardwalk is a five-minute walk, the Romantic Zone’s restaurants and nightlife five, and Los Muertos Beach ten. The airport is twenty minutes by car.

Frequently asked

Answered plainly.

01Where exactly is Old Town in Puerto Vallarta?

It is the historic centre — the Our Lady of Guadalupe cathedral, the Malecón boardwalk, the galleries and the market — together with the hillside that rises behind it. The Malecón and the Romantic Zone are each about five minutes’ walk, Los Muertos Beach ten, and the airport a twenty-minute drive.

02How many villas do you have in Old Town?

Two, both villas rather than condos: a six-bedroom hilltop house sleeping twelve and a nine-bedroom house sleeping eighteen. Both have heated infinity pools and terraces over the bay.

03How do you reach a hilltop house in Old Town?

One of the two is reached by a shared funicular that climbs the hillside from street level — you arrive at the door rather than walking up. The streets here are steep and cobbled, so most guests use a car or a taxi to get back up at night.

04Is Old Town walkable to the beach?

Los Muertos Beach is about a ten-minute walk downhill, through the Romantic Zone. The Malecón, which runs along the water through the centre, is five minutes away.

05What are the views like?

Both houses look over the clay-tiled roofs of the old town to the whole of Banderas Bay, with the city skyline below and the Sierra Madre mountains behind. They sit high enough that the view is uninterrupted.
