We arrived stressed and left different. Villa Tamayo’s rhythm imposed itself — chef breakfast at 9, pool by 10, lunch at 1, siesta, sunset terrace. By day three we’d stopped checking phones. The property doesn’t try to impress; it tries to calm. It works.

No view, no problem. The garden here is thick with tropical plants and birds and the cook’s mole was worth the flight alone. We golf-carted to the beach every afternoon, came back to a clean house and something already simmering in the kitchen. Three of us for four nights — didn’t need anything bigger. The pool is small but private. Fresh salsas every day. Simple, good, real.

Good value inside Punta Mita’s gates — three bedrooms, pool, chef service, no ocean view. The garden is mature and private. Chef rotated between regional cuisines throughout the week. We golfed and walked to the beach. Rocio checked in mid-stay. The community is peaceful and secure.
