Sunset Sailing a sunset cruise in Puerto Vallarta.
Three hours under sail as the sun goes down over Banderas Bay, with an open bar, fresh appetizers and the Sierra Madre behind you. Adults only, from age 16.
The bay at dusk, seen from the water.
This sunset cruise in Puerto Vallarta sails out into the middle of Banderas Bay, where the city skyline and the Sierra Madre catch the last light as the sun drops into the Pacific. You spend three hours on one of Vallarta Adventures’ French sailboats or sailing catamarans, in a small group of adults.
The crew serves a premium open bar and appetizers made with local ingredients, including a bruschetta trio. It is a sunset sail in Puerto Vallarta at an easy pace: a drink in hand, the view and the breeze on deck.
From the middle of the bay you see the sunset, the city and the mountains at once.

Two ways to sail at sunset.
Join a small shared group, or take a boat for your party alone. Both are run by Vallarta Adventures and booked through us.

“For couples, the shared sail is an easy evening: three hours on the water, a drink at sunset, and the rest of the night still yours. If the whole villa wants to go, ask us for a private boat; your group size decides whether it is a sailboat or a catamaran.”
After the sail, dinner back at the villa by a private chef (at additional cost), arranged by our concierge.
Before you ask.
What time does the sunset sail leave?
The sail lasts three hours and is timed for sunset. Your exact check-in time is confirmed when you book, and you arrive 45 minutes before departure.
Is dinner included?
No. The sail includes appetizers, a bruschetta trio and a premium open bar. For dinner on the water, Rhythms of the Night is the evening to book, or come back to a private chef at the villa.
Can we book a private sunset cruise?
Yes. A private sunset cruise uses a Beneteau sailboat or a Leopard catamaran, depending on the size of your group. Our concierge arranges it with Vallarta Adventures.
Is it adults only?
Yes. The minimum age is 16.
Will we be on a sailboat or a sunset catamaran?
On the shared sail the boat is assigned by the number of guests, so it cannot be chosen. Both sail the same route and see the same sunset.
Where does the boat leave from?
From the Puerto Vallarta Marina and from Vallarta Adventures’ pier in Nuevo Vallarta. Your departure point is confirmed when you book.
