The cove

A day at the cove, at your own pace.

Las Caletas Beach Hideaway is a cove on the south shore of Banderas Bay, about 45 minutes by boat from Marina Vallarta, and once the seaside retreat of the film director John Huston. Only Vallarta Adventures’ boats land at Las Caletas; Puerto Vallarta’s public ferries and outside vendors are not allowed in.

Once you land, the day is yours. Snorkel, paddleboard or kayak in the cove, take a guided nature walk past the macaws and flamingos, join a cooking lesson or a mezcal tasting, or settle into a hammock over the sea. Lunch is a buffet, and the bar is open all day.

For a villa group with children and teenagers, it is the easiest full day on the bay: everyone finds something to do.

Our take
“For a villa with children, this is the full day I suggest: the kids’ park, the hammocks and lunch are all in one place, and nobody has to plan anything. From Punta Mita, allow for the drive to Marina Vallarta.”
Oliver Weickardt Founder, Villa Experience

Before the boat, a transfer from the villa to Marina Vallarta; afterwards, dinner at the villa by a private chef (at additional cost), both arranged by our concierge.
