Where to Eat in Punta Mita and in the village outside the gate

Two resort hotels, five beach clubs, a fishing village with a beach road full of tables, and one gate between them. We checked them in October 2026: which are open, what to order, who can book, and which nights to stay home with your own cook.

Punta Mita is a peninsula with a gate across its neck. Inside are the Four Seasons, the St. Regis, two Jack Nicklaus courses and five beach clubs that most visitors never see. Outside is Punta de Mita, the fishing village, where the boats come in at El Anclote and the beach road fills with tables at sunset. The best weeks here use both.

Most guides to eating here were written years ago and still send people to rooms that have closed or changed hands. This one was checked against each restaurant’s own page, the hotels’ own dining lists and Punta Mita’s own publications, in the last week of October 2026. Where we could not confirm something for this season, we left it out.

We also tell you the thing nobody prints: which doors your stay opens. A hotel booking gets you the hotel. A house inside the gates gets you the beach clubs too.

The beach clubs are the part of Punta Mita most visitors never see. The key is where you sleep.
Before you book a table

Who can eat where

Three kinds of table, three different rules. The colours match the map below.

Inside the gates

The resort hotels

The Four Seasons and the St. Regis run more than a dozen restaurants and bars between them. Book ahead through the hotel; the Four Seasons says its Pan-Asian Aramara is open to guests and visitors.

Inside the gates

The beach clubs

Pacífico, Kupuri and Sufi belong to the residential community. Their own listings say they are for members, their guests and people renting a home in Punta Mita, not hotel guests or day visitors. El Surf Club, at La Lancha, also lets in guests of the two hotels.

Your key is a house inside the gates
Outside the gate

The village of Punta de Mita

Avenida El Anclote and the streets behind it: Thierry Blouet’s Tuna Blanca, Héctor Leyva’s Zicatela and Hoja Santa, wood-fired pizza and lobster on the sand. Anyone can walk in, and most places take reservations.

Five stops, from the Four Seasons on the north-west point to the hotels up and down the coast. Every card gives the straight-line distance from the Punta Mita main gate. Tap any number on the map to jump to its table; the diamonds are the two houses we suggest for eating in. Eighteen numbers on the map hold 21 dining rooms, because some hotels run more than one.

The beach clubs

Punta Mita’s own 2025 map shows five beach clubs: Pacífico, Kupuri, Sufi, El Surf Club at La Lancha and the new Bahía Beach Club. They belong to the residential community, not to the hotels, and this is where people who live here eat lunch. Three of them have a table to book: Pacífico, Kupuri and, at Sufi Ocean Club in Porta Fortuna, this season’s Il Molo. Their own listings set the rule: members, their guests and people renting a home inside the gates. El Surf Club, at La Lancha, also welcomes guests of the two hotels.

La Punta Estates, inside the gates. Six bedrooms, a head cook and a sous chef who make three meals a day, and the sea at the end of the lawn.

On the nights the restaurants rest, the best table on the peninsula is your own. At Casa La Vida the kitchen team cooks breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, a headwaiter and waiters serve it, and a house manager keeps the week running.

The house sits on La Punta, the southern tip of the peninsula. The sandy beach is a five-minute walk away, and the village of Punta de Mita a ten-minute golf-cart ride, so a Wednesday at Tuna Blanca and a Monday at home are equally easy.

And because it is a house inside the gates, it is also your key to the beach clubs.

The people behind the tables

Three chefs to know before you go

Héctor Leyva

Zicatela · Hoja Santa

Born in Oaxaca, he cooks from his pre-Hispanic roots with what he learned from France, Italy and Asia. Two of the village’s best tables are his: Zicatela on the beach road, cooked with Magdalena Juárez, and the new Hoja Santa a few doors away. Kupuri Beach Club hosted his Hector’s Kitchen from 2024.

Photo: Punta Mita Gourmet & Golf

Thierry Blouet

Tuna Blanca · Café des Artistes

Born in Puerto Rico to French parents and trained in France and Mexico, he founded Café des Artistes in Puerto Vallarta in 1990 and set the standard for fine dining on this coast. Tuna Blanca, on the sand at El Anclote, is his table in Punta de Mita.

Photo: Punta Mita Gourmet & Golf

Yasuo Asai

Asai Kaiseki · Mexico City

Japanese-born, he learned his craft in New York, Santiago de Chile and Brazil before founding Asai Kaiseki in Mexico City, where seasonal kaiseki meets the spirit of Mexican cooking. He has cooked at Kupuri Beach Club before and returns for Gourmet & Golf 2026.

Questions we get

Before you go

Can you eat at the Four Seasons or St. Regis without staying there?

Often, yes, with a reservation. The Four Seasons says Aramara is open to guests and visitors, and Bahía and Dos Catrinas are booked through the hotel. At the St. Regis, ask the hotel before you plan on it. Outside the gate, Rubra, Daniela Soto-Innes’s restaurant at the W, is for W guests only.

Who can use Punta Mita’s beach clubs?

Punta Mita’s own listings say Pacífico, Kupuri and Sufi are for club members, their guests and people renting a home in Punta Mita, not hotel guests or outside visitors. El Surf Club, at La Lancha, also welcomes guests of the Four Seasons and the St. Regis. Staying in a house inside the gates is how most visitors get in.

Is the village of Punta de Mita inside the gates?

No. The village, with El Anclote beach and Avenida El Anclote, is outside the resort gates and open to everyone. From Casa La Vida it is a ten-minute golf-cart ride.

Which restaurants close on Mondays and Tuesdays?

On Mondays: Bahía, Mita Mary, Tuna Blanca and dinner at Il Molo. On Tuesdays: dinner at Dos Catrinas, Mita Mary and Spice Market. Aramara closes on Sundays.

What is new for the 2026–27 season?

Marea, the new Italian dining room at Kupuri Beach Club; Il Molo at Porta Fortuna, open until 30 April 2027; Hoja Santa, Héctor Leyva’s new table on El Anclote; NAEF’s garden reopening on 19 November 2026; and the Four Seasons, a AAA Five Diamond hotel since August 2026. Montage Punta Mita is due in 2027, Pendry Punta Mita is under construction, and Omni Pontoque takes its first guests from 2 March 2027.
