Villa Serena

Villa Serena occupies half an acre of tropical garden in Lagos del Mar, and the position gives it three views at once: the Pacific to the west, the fairways of the Jack Nicklaus Signature course below, and the lakes that give the community its name. Four bedrooms sleep eight. The house is hacienda in temper rather than contemporary — beamed ceilings, stone feature walls, arched openings and marble floors — and it is arranged over two levels so that the main living rooms take the highest ground and the widest outlook.

The upper level holds a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, a formal dining room and a living room with panoramic ocean views, all opening through arched doors onto terrace. Below them an infinity pool and a jacuzzi are set into landscaped garden, with lounge seating arranged along the edge. The four bedrooms are generous and quiet: the master holds a king bed with its own sitting area beneath a beamed ceiling, and three further bedrooms hold king beds, two of them with carved four-poster frames and doors onto the garden. Four bathrooms serve the house, and a sound system runs throughout.

Daily housekeeping is included and a personal concierge handles the arrangements before and during the stay. A private chef, butler, housekeeping upgrades, pre-arrival grocery stocking, in-villa spa and wellness treatments, transportation and additional golf-cart rental are all available at further cost. The stay carries a Premier Golf Membership at Club Punta Mita, opening the private beach clubs at Pacifico, Kupuri, Sufi and the St Regis, the two Jack Nicklaus Signature courses at Pacifico and Bahia, the tennis, pickleball and paddle courts and the fitness centre, with preferential tee times on both courses. A six-passenger golf cart comes with the house.

Lagos del Mar sits in the middle of the peninsula between the golf and the water, which makes almost everything a few minutes away by cart: the clubhouse and first tee one direction, the Pacifico and Kupuri beach clubs another, the marina and the El Anclote surf break beyond. Punta de Mita town and its restaurants are around ten minutes, Sayulita twenty-five by road, and Puerto Vallarta International Airport roughly forty.
