Villa Buena Vida stands in the Porta Fortuna Golf Villas, a short walk from the Pacifico clubhouse on the western side of the Punta Mita peninsula, with the fairway running away from the terrace and the ocean beyond it. Five bedrooms sleep twelve. The house is contemporary and restrained — pale stone, slatted timber, vaulted white ceilings — and its whole orientation is outward, towards the golf course and the long light that comes across it in the late afternoon. It is a house built for groups who intend to play in the morning and eat outside in the evening.
A covered terrace runs the width of the house, holding lounge seating, a dining table and a barbecue, with a heated pool and a jacuzzi set into the deck below. Inside, living and dining open through sliding glass onto that terrace, and a fully equipped kitchen with a wine fridge serves both. Three bedrooms hold king beds; a fourth is a purpose-built bunk room with two queen bunks, two twin beds, built-in shelving and a desk, which is what carries the house to twelve. A fifth room serves as staff quarters. Five bathrooms serve the residence.
Daily housekeeping is included, and a personal concierge arranges the stay before arrival and during it. A private chef, butler, bartender, pre-arrival grocery stocking, in-villa spa and wellness treatments, transportation and additional golf-cart rental are all available at further cost. The stay carries a Premier Golf Membership at Club Punta Mita, opening the private beach clubs at Pacifico, Kupuri, Sufi and the St Regis, the two Jack Nicklaus Signature courses at Pacifico and Bahia, the tennis, pickleball and paddle courts and the fitness centre, with preferential tee times on both courses. A six-passenger golf cart comes with the house.
Porta Fortuna is built around the golf, and the clubhouse and first tee are a few minutes away on foot or by cart. The beach clubs at Pacifico and Kupuri are a short ride, the marina and the surf break at El Anclote a little further, and the restaurants of Punta de Mita town around ten minutes. Sayulita is twenty-five minutes by road and Puerto Vallarta International Airport roughly forty. For a golf week, a family holiday with children, or two families travelling together, Villa Buena Vida offers Villa Experience guests a comfortable and unpretentious base beside the fairway.
