Fifteen bedrooms — Hacienda del Mar is more boutique hotel than villa. Pool, gardens, chef team. No ocean view but the interior gardens create their own world. Cook fed our corporate group with Yucatecan specialties. We did cenote trips and a Mayan cooking class. Some wings feel quite separate. Well-managed and clean throughout. Go.

Our group retreat at Hacienda del Mar worked because of the scale — fifteen bedrooms across wings that function as independent sections. The Yucatecan menu rotated daily. We used the gardens for yoga sessions at dawn. Cenotes were a twenty-minute drive. The older wing plumbing runs slow but functional.

Found sand in the bed on arrival and the bathroom mirror had water spots from the previous guests. Not filthy but not the standard you expect at this price. After we flagged it housekeeping came back and did a proper clean. The rest of the stay was spotless. Cook was great, beach access is excellent. Just the turnover cleaning needs attention.
