Condo Anclote

Condo Anclote occupies a beachfront position in Condominios Punta de Mita, on the main street of the town itself rather than inside the gated resort. Three bedrooms sleep six. The residence was recently renovated throughout in a bright coastal register — travertine floors, timber joinery, saturated accent walls and local artwork — and it opens directly onto the sand. Anyone who would rather walk to dinner than take a golf cart to it will understand the appeal of the address immediately.

The living and dining areas open through sliding doors to a balcony that carries the ocean view and the sound that goes with it, with the beach immediately below. A fully equipped kitchen serves an indoor dining table. The master bedroom holds a king bed, a television and its own doors onto the balcony; a second bedroom holds a king with a dressing area; and a third holds two single beds, which makes the arrangement workable for a family as easily as for three couples. Three bathrooms serve the residence, and ceiling fans run alongside the air conditioning throughout.

A personal concierge arranges the stay before arrival and during it. Housekeeping, a private chef, a butler, pre-arrival grocery stocking, in-villa spa and wellness treatments, transportation and golf-cart rental are all available at additional cost, which keeps the running costs of a short stay proportionate to its length. The position does much of the work that staff would do elsewhere: groceries, restaurants, a pharmacy and the fish market are all within a few minutes on foot, and the beach requires no transport at all. Guests wanting the resort’s golf and beach clubs can add a day pass through the concierge rather than paying for a membership they will use twice.

Punta de Mita town is the working heart of the peninsula, and Anclote is its beach. The surf break of the same name is directly in front, the boats that run to the Marietas Islands leave from the sand nearby, and the restaurants along the main street range from palapa seafood to more considered cooking. The gated Punta Mita resort begins a few minutes north, Sayulita is twenty-five minutes by road, and Puerto Vallarta International Airport roughly forty. For a couple, a small family or a surf trip, Condo Anclote offers Villa Experience guests the most walkable address on the peninsula.
