Cozy, clean, well-run. The cook is genuinely great — ceviche, grilled fish, fresh juice every morning. She adapted when my daughter said she didn’t like cilantro. Small touches. The pool is compact but enough to cool off after beach days. Easy week.

The Playacar compound accommodated our entire extended family — grandparents, cousins, everyone. The chef team prepared meals that brought us all to the table — cochinita pibil, fresh ceviche, tamales on the last night. The beach is right there, calm and clean. We walked to 5th Avenue twice. The garden between the buildings is where the kids spent most of their time. WiFi was spotty in the back rooms.

Corazón handles the estate scale beautifully — our group of twenty spread across the property and nobody felt crowded. The bonfire on the last night is what I keep thinking about — the staff set it up on the beach, the cook brought out desserts, we sat under the stars. The Caribbean from this stretch is pristine. Multiple terraces for different moods. The main pool is enormous.
