Luxury day sailing in Cabo San Lucas.
Four hours under sail past the Arch and Land’s End, with a stop in a calm bay to snorkel and paddleboard, and lunch and an open bar on board. Private for your party, or in a small group.
The coast from the water, at an easy pace.
Sailing in Cabo San Lucas is a gentle way to see the coast: Land’s End, the Arch, Lover’s Beach, Pelican Rock and the sea lion colony from the deck of a French-built Beneteau monohull or Leopard sailing catamaran. Midway, the boat anchors in a sheltered bay, usually Santa María Bay, to snorkel, paddleboard or swim.
On the shared sail, lunch starts with shrimp, guacamole, pico de gallo and chips, then Caesar salad, ceviche, pasta, fruit and dessert, with cocktails, wine and beer from the open bar. No sailing experience is needed, and the private sail’s captain will show you how to steer.
Santa María Bay is a horseshoe-shaped Blue Flag cove, sheltered and clear, with the most fish along its rocks.

Two ways to go sailing.
Book the boat for your party alone, or join a small group on the shared sail. Cabo Adventures runs both from the Cabo San Lucas marina, and we book them for you.

Who can join
From age 5 on the private sail and 8 on the shared one, with a 120 kg (265 lb) weight limit on the private boats. Not suitable during pregnancy, and the shared sail is not suitable for limited mobility.
Food
Appetizers are served in bento boxes to share between two, and lunch follows on board.
Best time
The sea is usually calmest in the morning, and November to May brings the best sailing.
On the day
A dock fee is paid at check-in, and shoes come off on board. For the shared sail, villa guests meet at the Cabo Adventures office in the marina.
“For a villa group, the private sail is the day I would book: the van picks you up at the villa, and the captain will teach anyone who wants to steer. Ask for a morning start.”
Afterwards, an afternoon by the pool, then a private chef for the evening (at additional cost), arranged by our concierge.
Before you ask.
Sailboat or catamaran?
The 50 ft Beneteau monohull is the more traditional sail, livelier when the wind picks up, for up to 16. The Leopard sailing catamaran has two hulls, more space and a smoother ride, for up to 24.
Where do we snorkel?
Usually at Santa María Bay, a calm, Blue Flag cove with clear water; the most fish gather along the rocks on the right-hand side. Other nearby bays may be used depending on conditions.
Can we take the helm?
On the private sail, yes: the captain will show you the ropes. On the shared sail, the crew handles the sailing.
When is the best sailing season?
November to May, with daytime temperatures in the mid-70s to low 80s °F. From mid-December to April, humpback and gray whales may be seen on the way.
Do we need sailing or snorkeling experience?
No. The crew sails the boat, life jackets are worn for snorkeling, and the crew can guide anyone who wants company in the water.
