Villa Sabalo

Villa Sabalo occupies a hillside in Las Brisas, the residential ridge on the eastern side of Acapulco Bay where the city’s older houses look back across the water at the whole curve of the shoreline. Thirteen bedrooms sleep twenty-six. The estate is built in terraces down the slope, which keeps the bedrooms private from one another and gives almost every room a view over the bay, and it was laid out for entertaining: the reception rooms, the pool terrace and the discotheque sit apart from the sleeping wings, so an evening downstairs leaves the bedrooms undisturbed.

Six of the bedrooms are king master suites with ensuite bathrooms, ample closets, air conditioning and a private balcony or terrace facing the ocean or the gardens. The other seven hold two queen beds each with ensuite bathrooms of their own, laid out for families and larger groups, and service quarters accommodate up to twenty-two travelling staff. Indoors the house holds a home theatre with surround sound, a library and dedicated workspaces, a chef’s kitchen with an espresso machine, a gym with a steam room, a game room with a pool table and the private discotheque that has made the estate a fixture for celebrations in the bay.

The terrace is built around a forty-metre infinity pool that runs along the edge of the hillside above the water, with a hot tub, outdoor lounges arranged for the sunset, dining areas and a barbecue grill, and a paddle-tennis court on the level below. The estate has access to a private ecological beach and to La Concha Beach Club. A house manager runs the property with private chefs and kitchen assistants, three waitstaff and stewards, two housekeepers and two gardeners. Ground transport to and from Acapulco airport, local transport to restaurants and beaches, and personal laundry are all included in the stay.

Spa therapists, hairstylists and manicurists come to the house on request, as do yoga, Pilates and fitness instructors, and event planning with a private DJ for evenings in the discotheque; childcare with activities and workshops can be arranged for families. Las Brisas sits about fifteen minutes from the centre of Acapulco, ten from La Concha Beach Club and twenty-five from General Juan N. Alvarez International Airport.
