Villa Playasola

My wife and I visited Palayasola in September with two other couples. I'm not sure how this is possible, but the villa exceeded our high expectations. We had viewed it from a passing panga the past couple of years, so we knew the location was awesome, but once inside, we found that the construction, furnishings, and amenities were also impeccable. We marveled and wondered about the effort it must have taken to build such a place in that remote location. Of course, what made our stay so relaxing and decompressing was the attentive, friendly, and professional staff. They were all top-notch. Luis was the true ambassador of Playasola. He was knowledgeable and helped us decide on and arrange activities such as massages and fishing. He also shared helpful information about Puerto Vallarta, Las Animas, Playasola, and properties, such as Casa La Vista. As a bonus, we were never thirsty when Luis was around. I don't want to take anything away from anyone else because they were all wonderful, but Luis is who we came to rely on the most, and he really made us feel at home. I have to mention that Juan also got to know our preferences and cooked phenomenal meals. We spent a good amount of time scheming about return visits (with and without kids). Thanks for providing a wonderful location, villa, and staff!

To say that our stay at Playasola was amazing seems like an understatement. My family and I arrived for one week with some trepidation as one of my teenage daughters, and I have Celiac Sprue. As those of you on a gluten-free diet know, traveling can be a leap of faith, and I've had previous vacations in which I've lost weight (unwillingly...). First, when we arrived, we were greeted with such a welcome! Teresa, the house manager, arrived the first day to see that we were settled in and let us know that she was always available, and assure us that our dietary needs were not a problem. I could go on and on about the food but let me sum this part of my review up by saying that Marta and Humberto outdid themselves on a 5-star level, so much so that I gained 4 pounds and even ate dessert (which I NEVER do) every night!! My daughter and I are on a strict gluten-free diet as we get terribly ill if we eat anything containing gluten, and each meal was made gluten-free and with great knowledge about this condition. I can recommend this villa and staff with great confidence. Araceli and Primativo do a fantastic job of keeping everything beautiful and always with a smile! Araceli, I have learned to grin while back at home and doing the cleaning around here, so thank you. Primi, you were a gem! He was up EARLY each morning sweeping and setting up beach cushions with a smile and even took my kiddos and husband on a hike to go horseback riding. Juan looked after us from morning to midday setting out a beautiful table setting for Marta's delicious meals (I miss you, Marta, and thank you for teaching me how to make salsa). Humberto, the chef, was outstanding. Each dinner was that of a 5-star restaurant, picturesque and delicious. And then there was Chicho....whom we became very attached to. Chicho is a funny, kind, accommodating, informative, friendly gentleman who went above and beyond for us (as did everyone). Many thanks to all at Playasola for your kindness and cheerfulness. We miss you terribly. Oh, and Marta, you inspired me! I have been preparing all kinds of wonderful Mexican food (though yours is better!) while home and even purchased lard for tamales and the Verde brand beans! If you want a vacation that will put any 5-star resort to shame, go to Playasola. P.S. The beach is the BEST we have been to yet and mere steps away. We miss you guys, and may God bless you!

A week of total relaxation, pampering, and spectacular views...must be Playasola. This thoughtfully designed home was welcoming and functional with ocean views from every room, along with beautiful decor and overly comfortable beds. There are so many areas to explore on this property, from the sports complex (try the 100+ stairs for a great workout) to the beach palapa to the open-air living room and pool deck. Each provided a unique experience for a full day of enjoyment without a traditional resort's long walk or crowds. And from the moment we stepped onto the sandy beach of our "home," the exceptional service and attention began. Rudi did not allow a finger to be lifted, seeming to know our request before we could make it. Sondra consistently prepared delicious meals for our hungry crew. And once the evening approached, Luis served with a caliber of excellence while Umberto prepared dinner with great skill and taste. Even our teenagers were impressed! Our group of nine (four adults and five teenagers) agreed this one is a keeper! We have already begun planning our return as Playasola gave us everything we needed...time to relax, enjoy family, and be truly spoiled.

A friend group of 5 moms and their 5 high school senior daughters spends 5 nights at this amazing home. Everything was perfect - from the impeccably furnished three-story house to the delicious and freshly prepared meals, to the made-to-order drinks all day/night long, to the beautiful landscaping and beach, and most of all - to the outstanding staff that made our stay wonderful. We will definitely return, and our daughters are planning many reunions at Playasola.
