The sunrise through the master bedroom windows is liquid gold — hence the name. Chef made breakfasts that we lingered over until noon. We found a taco stand around the corner and returned four times. The garden is mature and private. The property is understated rather than flashy — the views do the work.
Esperanza — hope. Six bedrooms, pool above the Sea of Cortez, We used the cook for dinners and cooked simple breakfasts ourselves. We grilled every night and it became our favourite meal tradition. Fished one morning, golfed another, whale-watched from the terrace. Cabo’s energy is nearby but Esperanza sits in quiet. One of the outdoor lights needs a bulb. Everything else is solid. La comida — riquÃsima.
We gambled on an off-season visit to Esperanza and won. Empty beaches, lower rates, warmer water. Chef had summer ingredients — stone fruit, fresh corn, lighter menus. We fished and explored without crowds. Some afternoon heat but the pool and shaded terraces handle it. The gamble pays off.
