Rented Casa Paakat for the days after our wedding. Twelve of us from the wedding party, six bedrooms, pool overlooking the bay. Puerto Vallarta energy is amazing — we did the Malecón, hit Zona Romántica for tacos, sailed Banderas Bay one afternoon. The architecture has real character, not cookie-cutter. Rocio made sure we had everything before we arrived.

This isn’t a generic PV box. The architecture has real character — angles, materials, integration with the hillside. My partner and I are both designers and we noticed details everywhere. The cook prepared bay-caught fish most evenings, beautifully. We walked the Malecón at sunset, explored galleries in the Romántica, found an incredible mezcal bar tucked behind a taco stand. The PV food scene is genuinely underrated. Rocio suggested Conchas Chinas because we said we wanted design-forward with bay views. She delivered. Some of the outdoor furniture could use refreshing but the bones of this place are exceptional.

Return trip number three in the area, first at Casa Paakat. Six bedrooms for our group of 12. The chef came with the property and it made the whole trip better. We walked along the coast, which mattered and sailed across the bay. We fought over the good terrace chairs. Best one yet.
