The dives

Scuba diving in Cabo San Lucas centers on Land’s End. Certified divers make two dives there, to the sea lion colony and Neptune’s Finger, a submerged rock formation, with a PADI instructor and divemaster from Cabo Adventures’ PADI Five Star Dive Center.
New to diving? Discover Scuba is a three-hour first dive for beginners: a lesson in breathing and the equipment, then one dive to about 40 ft at Pelican Rock, among tropical fish, octopus, pufferfish, stingrays and seahorses. A private boat lets certified divers and beginners in the same group go out together.
At Land’s End, the granite that forms the Arch carries on below the surface.

Before you go.
Who can dive
From age 10, and Discover Scuba up to 60, with a 120 kg (265 lb) weight limit. Not suitable during pregnancy or with breathing, heart or ear conditions.
Certified divers
Bring your certification card. At least one dive in the past 12 months is required.
On the day
A dock fee is paid at check-in, and the shared boats add a gear fee. The private boat includes premium gear.
Before you fly
PADI recommends 18 hours between diving and flying, so dive early in your stay.

Is Cabo San Lucas good for scuba diving?
Yes. Divers can meet tropical fish, rays, sea turtles and sea lions at Land’s End and Pelican Rock, and at Corridor bays such as Santa María and Chileno on request.
Do I need to be certified?
For the two dives at Land’s End, yes. Discover Scuba is for beginners, and the private boat takes beginners and certified divers together.
Where do the dives go?
The certified dives go to Land’s End, with the sea lion colony and Neptune’s Finger. Discover Scuba dives at Pelican Rock. The private boat can visit the Arch, Neptune’s Finger, the Middle and North Walls and Pelican Rock, and Corridor sites such as Santa María Bay and Chileno Bay on request. Sites depend on the sea.
When is the best diving season?
June to December for visibility, warm water and calm weather. January to May has more marine life, and whales to see from the boat.
How deep do we go?
Open Water divers go to about 60 ft (18 m) and Advanced Open Water divers to about 100 ft (30 m). Discover Scuba goes to about 40 ft.
Can beginners and certified divers dive together?
Yes, on the private boat in most cases. Tell us how many of each when you book, and Cabo Adventures confirms the plan.
